FAQs

How should I plan my wedding day timeline for hair and makeup?

On the morning of, I plan to arrive 10 min before start time to settle in, setup my station, and begin the beautifying!

I ask for 45-60 min per person (dependent on the styles of course based by the trial this is on average) I find that 1 hour window makes the most relaxed time frame for my brides! To determine the "start time", I count backwards from your "makeup completion" time, which tends to be determined by your photographer +/or wedding planner. REALIZE PICTURE TIME WILL DETERMINE START TIME AND THINK ABOUT HOW EARLY YOU WISH TO WAKE UP AND START.

Do you offer services for a large party on your own? Do you hire extra help?

Yes! For bridal parties with 9+ people I have assistants that will travel with me to help us reach our timeline goal.

Do you do airbrush makeup?

For my makeup services, I provide traditional techniques which incorporate high-end products for amazing coverage and color ranges from the beloved High-Definition RCMA foundation- famously used on celebrities, photography, & film. RCMA foundation achieves a similar light & glowing look to airbrush, high-definition finish, with healthier ingredients and guaranteed stay power for a long wedding day. I finish with high power setting spray to seal the makeup for all evening wear as well! Honestly my brides have been continuously pleased with the look and longevity of my traditional makeup application. I have used airbush in the past and found that it doesn’t offer the level of creativity and customization I like to offer my clients.

Do you have experience doing makeup on women of color?

Yes! In fact I have many shade ranges and have incorporated many classes of makeup on women of color into my continued education. I understand the different tones and dimensions to use while giving different coverage options for all skin colors.

Should I get a facial leading up to my wedding day?

Absolutely! Skincare is so important for your makeup to look incredible. I am licensed to do them but do not offer them on the regular. I can refer you to a fabulous esthetician who can take care of your needs.

Should I leave my hair dirty for you to style?

Gone are the ways of dirty hair before an upstyle! Please wash your hair the night before your wedding and please relate this to the other members in your bridal party. Greasy hair can be really hard to work with depending how much buildup there is. There are professional products now that not only smell amazing but offer the grip I need to work with your hair.

How would you like my hair and face to be when I arrive for hair and makeup?

Face: Freshly cleansed and moisturized. Hair: Cleaned the night before and DRY. Dry so that I can immediately style the hair, if I have to dry it that cuts into our timeframe.

Do I need my veil and hair accessories for the trial run?

I suggest clients come with the veil and hair accessories they want to use on their wedding day so we can practice the final look.

Do I need to collect images for the trial?

Yes, please email over a few looks for hair and makeup inspiration so we can focus on those looks and what you like from them to create your own customized look that you will feel beautiful in.

Do the bridesmaids/moms need a makeup and hair trial?

The simple answer is “no” this is my professional opinion. I of course want the bridesmaids and moms to be happy with their services, but when it comes down to it this is the bride’s special day and she deserves to be the one most doted on. If they feel they need to be doted on to the same level I suggest they hire someone separate that can give that to them. My biggest focus is the bride on her wedding day and secondary is the rest of the bridal party so that everyone looks neat, put together, and feels beautiful.

Is it ok to bring a friend to my trial?

Absolutley! This makes it more fun and helps you feel more comfortable having your friend to support you and your decisions.

When should I have my trial?

No later than a month before, this gives me time to order in your special lip color that you pick out at your trial and it helps to keep the looks fresh in our minds. We will also take many photos to have for reference.

What if I am not happy with my trial?

I will follow up with you the day after your trial to see if we need to tweak anything day of. If you need a second trial that can be scheduled.

How far in advanced do you take bookings?

Up to 2 years, but if the date is open for a last minute (a few months) then I will take care of you if my schedule allows.

What do I need to prepare for my hair and makeup trial?

Please send your hair and makeup ideas prior to our appointment.

Come with a clean face and wash and dry your hair the day of your trial, as this will be best for styling the hair.

Provide any hair accessories you would like us to use on the wedding day.

If you would like any hair extensions added please bring these along to the trial, you can discuss with your stylist where to buy them prior to your appointment. WEAR WHITE FOR THE FULL BRIDAL AFFECT.

What do I need to do to prepare for my hair and makeup on the wedding day?

For your makeup application, we suggest clients arrive with clean skin.

Washed hair night prior and dry will help with styling.

Avoid using any hair products or using any heat appliances as this can affect styling.

Please wear a robe/dressing gown or something that can be easily taken off rather than over the head as this may affect the finished hair or makeup.

What happens on the wedding day and how long will hair and makeup take?

I arrive 10 minutes before we are scheduled to begin with your wedding party to set up etc.

I will set up an area for hair or makeup usually we would ask for a location with lots of natural light for applying the makeup if possible and for hair an area that has a plug point for the hair appliances.

Based on the timeline you have reviewed and approved prior to your wedding day we will start with your wedding party at the allotted time. Each person takes roughly 45 to 60 minutes, however, we do build in a cushion for any clients that take a little longer or need changes.

For our bride, I give 1 hour so we can take our time and have you relax.

Once everyone is ready we use the last few minutes for touchups, lips, etc. to ensure you are all camera ready for

What happens if my bridesmaids are late?

This will unfortunately cut into the main timeline discussed and late fees will be applied and paid before we leave the location. We do not like these situations, no one does they are uncomfortable, but it is time away from our family too that we take to give a flawless look on your special day.

Do you offer tattoo coverup?

Yes, we do offer this service. At the trial stage, we will assess the tattoo to see how long it will take to cover and any extra costs for bespoke products needed so we can give you an accurate quote for the wedding day. Products can also be purchased at a later date.
